An old assignment to write a review on dog tags sits at the top of my queu. Each time I post completed assignments, I skip this assignment because the dog tags I am suppose to write about never arrived. Or maybe they did and somehow got lost in the transition between Tallahassee and Havana.
At any rate, I figured I'd go ahead and post something because the uncompleted assignment is getting on my nerves- I want it done!
My inspiration is to write about Cindy, my childhood pet, a blue murrell lassie-like collie and to write about a recipe for baking home-made dog bones for your favorite pooch.
Do you have a product that you would like reviewed? While I will write about a variety of products, my special focus is on products that we will be using at the new Canopy Rose Culinary Arts Studio and Catering Company.

'Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained." ~ Madam Marie Curie

"It's these turnaround or these pivotal moments that introduce you to yourself- these small or these huge catastrophic events in your life- I do think that that's where you really meet yourself." ~ Sheryl Crow
While none of us go out in search of the difficult and unimaginable troubles we might find ourselves in, it is hard to deny the character gifts that come out of life's hardships and trials.

As a caterer, special event designer and teacher of cooking classes; I love the novel opportunities that serendipitously enter into my life. You know what I'm refering to, don't you?
I'm talking about the sorts of opportunities that don't come along every day. The opportunity to cater at the Masters for Nike golf clubs, teach Florida Cuisine cooking classes to legislative wives or lead a group of foodies to Tuscany and Umbria. It is these extraordinary opportunities that add the delightful flavoring to my work.

The new Culinary Arts Studio is preparing to begin running classes in our new facility. What an exciting time this is! New possibilities are blooming every single day!
While I'm busy coordinating teachers, workshop leaders and class ideas I'm also busy gearing up for re entering the catering field, after having taken a sabbatical of sorts for a few years. as I do this I'm evaluating auto accessories that might be helpful in transporting catered foods from the commissary to the event.

Kitchen Knife Skills 101
In our line-up of upcoming cooking classes, a kitchen knife skills class is being considered. I am looking for an instructor to teach this class. If you are a certified chef in North Florida or South Georgia and are interested in teaching a class with the Canopy Rose Culinary Arts Studio and Catering Company call Kathi Dameron at 850-539-7750. We are looking for a few chef-instructors to round out our schedule of recreational cooking classes. Have some ideas for another cookery class? I'm open to suggestions! safety utility knife

Now that Canopy Rose is being resurrected after a sabbatical of sorts, I suppose I will be changing this blog to be reflective of the goings on of the business.
On Thursday, we received our DBPR licensing for our new location in Havana, Florida. I hope to be ready within the next couple weeks to swing open our doors for cooking classes, special food events and of course, catering. But in the meantime there is a bit of organizing and fine tuning still to be done. While I have most everything that I need after having been a caterer and special event designer for many years in Tallahassee, there are still a few new items that I would like to add. For these I will visit directbuy.
